statement
My works is an attempt to understand my recognition of the world, by disorganizing of comic and play with it.
Comics depict how we perceive space and time by three elements; drawings, texts and frames.
With Its symbolical drawing, text and frames, comic's communication get very fast and easy. For example doodles which is similarity of drawings in comics can be seen in very beginning of the human history.
However once its codes are removed from the context, it would have become a range of pointless lines.
Reading is alchemical experience. What printed on a page is just groups of lines, though readers who understand what the lines mean can be so absorbed that they are abundant from the world. Story what called the mimicry of the world also shut down the reader from the world where they are in.
It is impossible to declare where world begins and ends, we are enable to know what unknown people does in unknown place.
Stories exist as a part of our society not only entertainment.
There are full of different worlds of stories and people take the diversion with each way of reading.
It is constructed by the author, story itself and the reader.
Not only contents, but also symbols what carry narratives have to be something meaningful for the reader.
The common understanding and the knowledges of the medium gives highly communication between the narrative and the readers.
In case of comic, it is medium of the age of mass production and rise of overflow of images. Therefore it has been usually used to show its economical and symbolical characters, like Roy Lichtenstein has done.
However as its reader, I often felt there is different and more attractive elements in reading comics.
The way of reading comics is interaction between drawings, texts, frames and even the timing of turning pages.
It uses various brain skills to construct a story, for instance, the gap between each frames are connected by "short memory". Frames has character of continuity and also simultaneity like existence of past, presence and future all at once.
To think how narratives are told can be a solution to make clear confusion of the overflow of information, opinions and world view.
